In late 2007, Bellin Hospital of Green Bay, Wisconsin sponsored a community initiative to encourage the use of the emergency telephone number 9-1-1 and to recognize the contributions of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel.
The public was invited to submit their personal stories sharing their experiences in the trained hands of Emergency Medical Service personnel. Once the stories had been submitted and compiled, a group of medical personnel (including EMS workers) selected a cross-section of stories which truly showcased the daily heroism of EMS workers, while at the same time promoted the use of 9-1-1. The campaign included sharing the stories with the media, online promotion, recognition of the EMS workers in the selected stories at a Green Bay Packers game at Lambeau Field, and the development of a special EMS tribute display to initially be displayed in the Lambeau Field Atrium before traveling to other Bellin Health locations.
Ignite Digital is proud to have partnered with Bellin Health to produce a dynamic, award-winning display to showcase the heroic talents of the EMS personnel. The display is comprised of the stories that were selected as well as pictures of the men and women who answered the call when help was needed most. From concept through design, fabrication and installation, Ignite Digital worked closely with the client to maintain the integrity of the stories and produced a display that commanded attention and respect.
Since the primary location for the kiosk displays was to be the vast, open space of the Lambeau Field Atrium, the structures had to be large enough to make a visual impact. By combining metal truss work, sheets of diamond plate, and working closely with the photographer we were able to fully capture the importance of the 9-1-1 campaign and the heroism of the EMS personnel.
The resulting displays received a regional Addy award and remained on display throughout the rest of the year. "Make The Right Call 911" is on track to be a bi-yearly event, and the goal is to re-use the displays while changing the stories and photography. The displays have made an impact locally and nationally in the media, and serves as a reminder to encourage people to always "Make the Right Call."
